What this site is, and is not
A Life Well-Lived is a book and website project by Chris Ellison, an individual and family therapist in Ontario. The tools, articles and newsletter share general observations about what tends to help people, drawn from his experience and the work of other clinicians and researchers. They are for education and personal reflection only.
- They are not therapy, counselling, medical advice, a diagnosis or a clinical assessment, and they are not tailored to you.
- Using this site or contacting Chris through it does not create a counsellor-client relationship. His counselling practice, Ellison Counselling Services, is separate.
- They are not suitable for situations involving emotional, physical or psychological abuse. If you feel afraid, controlled or unsafe, speak with a professional or someone you trust.
- If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 9-8-8 in Canada at any time, or call 9-1-1 if anyone is in danger.
Please do not send personal, health or confidential information through this site, social media or the newsletter. Chris cannot give individual advice through these channels.
